Angels among us
Lady at K&W
We were going through a very dark time for our family. Satan was doing his best to destroy our family and he was close to succeeding. Trying our best to sort things out and come up with a solution, we had tried every possible thing we could think of to help a hurting family member. My heart was breaking and I just couldn’t see a positive outcome in any way, shape or form. One night we were at a K&W Cafeteria having supper with another couple. During the meal, we talked about many things, one of which was this particular trial we were going through. The whole thing seemed hopeless; until we met an angel! While in line to pay for our meal, the guys started talking to this man in line with them. Their conversation continued outside. Being used to this, us ladies began talking with the man’s wife. It started out the usual small talk. All of a sudden she asked if she could pray with me. The three of us joined hands and she began to pray. It wasn’t a long prayer. It was very short and simple. When she finished, she took both my hands in hers and said “God wants me to tell you something. He wants me to tell you there’s nothing else for you to do.” I must have looked like a deer caught in headlights because she then said -”Now I don’t know what he’s talking about, but from the look on your face, you do. He wants you to know there is nothing else for you to do. You just need to let him do what he needs to do.” Now this couple had not been sitting anywhere near us. Yes we had talked about what was going on but there hadn’t been any tears or other evidence that something was wrong. There is no way she could have known! Through it all I never forgot her words or God’s promise to take care of it. And he did take care of it in a mighty way! I only wish I knew who she was so I could thank her, for her prayer and for giving me a knot to hold onto at the end of my rope.
Ms. Bea
Ms. Bea was one of my mentors, my friend. She was the one who taught the “Walking on water” Bible study that had such an impact on my life. I also consider her one of the angels God has sent my way. Throughout Alan’s deployments she was a prayer warrior, confidant and advisor. She was an awesome example of what a godly woman should be. Throughout her battle with cancer, she was a true picture of grace. I could fill pages with things about Ms. Bea! I will always miss her and carry her in my heart. I know I’ll see her again. In the meantime, Ms. Bea, know that I am doing my best to serve God and be an encouragement to the women he sends my way.
Tony
I have to say a few words about Tony. Ms. Bea sent him my way while Alan was overseas the first time. My computer had crashed and, over the phone, he helped get it up and running. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude and praise for God! You see, Alan had just gotten to where we could e-mail each other. I had to have my computer! Now skip ahead a few years. We’re ready to do this web site. On the referral of another godly lady, Ms. Mary Jones, we contacted “Tony’s Helping Hands”. Imagine our surprise to discover this was the same Tony that helped me with my computer!
The only way I know how to thank the many angels God has sent my way, and to thank him, is to share with others what their lives and their faith have meant to me.
