Praise the
Parrot
This is Marie. Alan says he has some pictures to send, too. He's reduced
them about 1/3. He's hoping not to have to reduce them further, because then
they'll start to get grainy. Anyway....I wanted to tell you the story behind
Praise. This beautiful Parrot was one of the birds that Fletcher and Isabel Hollingsworth rescued. They tried and tried to get her to talk, but she
wouldn't. They finally gave up and accepted the fact that she would probably
never speak like the others. One day Praise was walking along on the ground
and a dog grabbed her. When they got the dog off her, they looked to find her
laying on the ground with her eyes closed and her feet in the air. At first
they thought she might be dead. All of a sudden her eyes flew open and she
shouted "Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord!" about fifteen times! Now,
whenever folks visit her at the park, Kristen and the others ask her to tell
them "What's the good word?" and she says "Praise the Lord!"
If the pictures don't make it before this weekend, that's okay. The main
thing is the link. We want the kids to be able to check it out. Well, we're
